PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — In a time of layoffs and cutbacks, Pawtucket-based Collette not only experienced record-profits in 2013, but it also shared some of those profits with its employees.
The tour operator (formerly Collette Vacations) unveiled a new name, logo and tagline in the new year. It also announced hitting a major revenue goal in 2013 and double-digit growth.
To celebrate, the company paid each of its 544 employees world-wide (340 are based in Pawtucket) a bonus of $1,000, in addition to any performance-based incentives.
The bonus was even sweeter for 10 employees, who each won $10,000 during a random drawing last week during an event at the Rhode Island Convention Center. Seven of the winners are from Rhode Island, two live in Massachusetts and another is from Collette’s office in Surrey, BC, Canada.
Collette’s President and CEO, Dan Sullivan Jr., remarked that the incentive plus the added bonus drawings were meant as a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to every employee for all they do to drive the company forward.
