PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Many residents will have the opportunity to get a free ride to anywhere in the state.

Starting Thursday, January 23, at 7 a.m. until 6 p.m., Uber Car Service will offer free rides throughout the state.

The company began their car service in Rhode Island last month.

Uber has been fighting a change to state regulations, instituting a minimum $40 charge on their service.

The on-demand black car service is available in 34 other cities across the country.

To snag your free rides:

  • Request a ride in Rhode Island and the promotion will apply automatically.
  • Take 3 FREE rides between 7am on Thursday (1/23) through 6pm on Saturday (1/25) for up to $20 per ride.
  • If you’re not signed up, download the app or register here: uber.com/go/RILOVESUBER.
  • They’re expecting pretty high demand for free rides, so Uber thanks customers in advance for your patience!
