CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) – It was a very special moment for one Cranston boy Sunday night, as he made his television debut in a Super Bowl TV commercial.
Braylon O’Neill, 5, was born with malformed feet and no bones in his lower legs. When he was three years old he had his feet and lower legs amputated to make room for elaborate prosthesis, which allow to run, kick and play sports.
Microsoft executives saw video online of Braylon playing sports and decided to feature him in their commercial celebrating modern medical technology.
Braylon was allowed to stay up past his 8:30 p.m. bedtime to see his big television debut.
Also making its Super Bowl debut Sunday night was Rhode Island-based jewelry company Alex and Ani.
CEO Giovanni Feroce narrated the 30-second commercial, which shows several area stores and uses the slogan “We are Main Street,” before zooming out to a map of the United States, with bright lines coming from Rhode Island, to show the company’s reach.
