CVS Health and WPRI 12 have joined forces for Community Heroes, a program that will provide $55,000 in grants to Rhode Island nonprofits that focus on health care, children, social services and military support.
We’ve received dozens of applications nominating your favorite nonprofits over the past few weeks, and on Monday we announced the winners.
Each of the following organizations will receive a $5,000 grant:
- Mobile Loaves and Fishes, Inc.
- South Providence Neighborhood Ministries
- The Groden Network
- Operation Stand Down RI
- Foster Forward
- Southside Community Land Trust
- Alzheimer’s Association, Rhode Island chapter
- St. Elizabeth Home in East Greenwich
- RI Coalition Against Domestic Violence
- RI Senior Olympics
Erik Wallen from Operation Stand Down and Lisa Guillette from Foster Forward joined The Rhode Show Monday to discuss their organizations and how the grants will help.
You may have noticed there’s still $5,000 remaining. That’s because we’ll be awarding a bonus $5,000 grant to the nonprofit who receives the most votes via social media!
Now through June 10, ask your networks to vote for your organization via Twitter. They’ll need to tweet @CVSInAction with the name of the organization, using #CommunityHeroes.
The selected organization will be announced live on The Rhode Show on June 15.
