Erik Scalavino is known for his journalism and work for the New England Patriots, but he also has a passion for helping animals.
The writer was inspired during a 2008 trip to Egypt when he spotted a pack of emaciated dogs.
Scalavino later founded the Nutmeg Animal Welfare in 2014, an animal welfare organization with a global vision.
The non-profit works for various causes from getting justice for local abused dogs to finding homes for rescued dogs in other countries.
Erik Scalavino joined us live in the Rhode Show studio to talk about his work and vision.
